Description
The Alpha® Hot-Rod Blade is designed for creating channels in the underside of countertops for installing reinforcing rods around sink and cooktop cutouts. When used with the Alpha® AWS-110 or AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter, the Hot-Rod can create the channel in one easy pass for a faster and more efficient fabrication process. The Hot-Rod for Granite is manufactured with diamond grits and a matrix designed for all categories of granite, including hard red granites, for long cutting life. Its 3" diameter provides better positioning and leverage when cutting 1/4" deep channels. Granite blades are available in 1/4" thickness for standard rods, 1/8" for thinner rods, and 3/8" for threaded rods. The Hot-Rod for Marble uses the same technology but is specifically designed for softer stones such as marble. It is available in 1/4" thickness for standard rods and 1/8" for thinner rods. Alpha® recommends wet cutting for a smooth, dust-free operation, although Hot-Rod blades may be used wet or dry.
